• Quak­er­town Farm­ers Mar­ket will hold a Small Busi­ness Open House 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Satur­day, Feb. 16, in De­part­ment #353A.

The open house will fo­cus on reach­ing out to in­di­vid­u­als in­ter­ested in start­ing their own busi­ness or peo­ple with a small busi­ness who are look­ing to ex­pand. Per­son­nel will be on hand Satur­day with in­for­ma­tion on what is needed to start a re­tail or restau­rant busi­ness as well as rent space at the mar­ket.

• Jean Keeler, Grand siew Hospi­tal’s pres­i­dent and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, will speak on “Grand View Hospi­tal: A Cen­tury Strong & Well into the Fu­ture,” Thurs­day, Feb. 28, at a joint meet­ing of the Pen­nridge Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dian sal­ley Cham­ber of Com­merce at In­dian sal­ley Coun­try Club, 650 Bergey Road in Franconia.

She will talk about Grand siew’s cur­rent ser­vices and en­vi­sioned changes, as well the pre­dicted im­pact of the Af­ford­able Care Act.

•A Printed Tex­tile Quilt/ Printed Tex­tiles fam­ily craft work­shop will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Satur­day, Feb. 16 at Sch­wenk­felder Li­brary and Her­itage Cen­ter, 105 Sem­i­nary Street, Penns­burg.

Make a small hand-carved block print, then use the block to make a printed tex­tile piece. Par­tic­i­pants will also make a col­lec­tive piece fea­tur­ing a print from all par­tic­i­pants in the class.
