The Financial Times launched its daily, curated economics newsletter to subscribers. The email newsletter is written by Martin Sandbu and features daily analysis of a leading global economy policy topic. BH Media Group, parent company of The Press of Atlantic City, acquired Atlantic City Weekly and its associated website, acweekly. com, from Review Publishing Ltd. Swedish daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet will launch SvD Näringsliv Helg (SVD Business Weekend) magazine on Feb. 14. The magazine features current financial news and analysis and will be published every Saturday to 125,000 households in Stockholm and surrounding municipalities, and to non-subscribers of the daily paper. The Tonawanda (N.Y.) News published its last edition on Jan. 31. Publisher Chris Voccio announced in November 2014 that the final edition would be in January. George Hobbie founded the Tonawanda News in 1880. The Butler (Pa.) Eagle contracted GIS for operator training for the paper’s two SLS1000 inserting systems. The company reported immediate throughput increases of over 20 percent, GIS said. SnapSet Web Drying Systems and Newspaper Solutions LLC announced the sale of SnapSet infrared drying equipment to a commercial newspaper printer. The printer will implement the infrared system this spring. Suddeutsche Zeitung of Germany tapped ppi Media for its AdX Print App, which will enable the paper to manage and oversee current ad bookings via their iPads. The app displays adbooking statuses regardless of publication date and sales zone, and shows where and in which publication an ad has been placed, and whether or not additional ad space is available. The Munich-based publisher also uses ppi’s PlanPag, ProPag, AdPag, Output Management and ppi’s inkReduction apps. The Associated Press with Automated Insights and Zacks Investment Research to automatically generate more than 3,000 stories about U.S. corporate earnings each quarter. The AP said this is a tenfold increase over what its reporters and editors previously created.

Hearst Magazines International launched Cosmopolitan.ng in Nigeria, the first of several planned digital-first introductions for the Cosmopolitan brand around the world. Estée Lauder is the exclusive marketing partner in Nigeria for the official Cosmopolitan.ng debut, with a full-site sponsorship for the month of February. Built on Hearst Magazines’ proprietary global content management system, Cosmopolitan.ng is operated by a local editorial team in Lagos. TMB Publishing chose WoodWing Software’s Enterprise multichannel publishing system to distribute its content in print and online. Superior Media Solutions will integrate the system with TMB’s new Drupal-based Web sites. Meantime, WoodWing released version 9.5 of Enterprise and said the new version enables users to tailor their stories to channel specific requirements and allows online content to be repurposed to create a new article for print.
