Metro Production Conference increases attendance, reinforces newspapers’ importance
The Metro Production Conference took place in late May with 148 print delegates representing 76 print sites.
Some 65 vendors and suppliers attended the events, Goss, manroland, KBA, TKS, and Muller Martini/GMA.
The U.S., Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rico and Canada were among the countries represented.
“It was an over-the-top successful event,” Jeff Lansing, operations director for the Post-Bulletin in Rochester, Minn., and treasurer for MPC told News & Tech.
The 2015 conference recorded the event’s highest attendance since 2007, with a 18 percent year-over-year increase in print sites represented. Lansing said this year’s event marks a 32 percent increase in sites represented over the 2013 conference.
“(It was a) good conference format,” David Gilmore, regional sales manager, Americas for Goss International said. “It’s encouraging to see attendance growing — both newspaper and vendors.”
