Agree­ment reached on News & Record's Greens­boro site

e News & Record (Greens­boro, North Carolina) has reached an agree­ment to sell its prop­erty, at 200 E. Mar­ket St. in down­town Greens­boro, the paper re­ports. News & Record owner BH Me­dia didn't iden­tify the buyer of the 6.5-acre prop­erty or the price. Lo­cal con­ser­va­tive weekly the Rhino Times says Greg Dil­lon of Dil­lon Devel­op­ment Part­ners of Mary­land as be­ing un­der con­tract for the prop­erty.

On Guil­ford County tax rolls, the prop­erty is val­ued at $9.9 mil­lion.

e sale is ex­pected to close in the third quar­ter of 2019. e paper is re­lo­cat­ing to a new spot in Greens­boro in 2019 or 2020. e paper's press and mail­room op­er­a­tions now run out of the BH Me­dia-owned Win­ston-Salem Jour­nal's pro­duc­tion fa­cil­ity.

e land could serve as a lo­ca­tion for a range of new types of devel­op­ment, in­clud­ing apart­ments or a sky­scraper, the paper re­ports. e city is cur­rently ex­pe­ri­enc­ing a con­struc­tion boom.
