plays and we did not. We beat them four times and they really wanted to beat us.”

Already trailing 3-0, Snider gave the ball to Ben Morina to stop the base runners. Deep Run loaded the bDses Ln Whe firsW Whree Lnnings and while they were able to push across two more runs on Sean McLeod’s tworun single, Morina stranded the rest. Deep Run stranded 16 base runners and Morina held Deep Run scoreless over the last four innings.

“I felt great, but I would have liked to have a win,” Morina said. “They hit a few that fell in front of our RuWfielders, buW , sWLll IelW we could have pulled it off. I did not think missing a few guys would hurt, but I think it showed that it did.”

0RrLnD’s Lnfield sLnJle WR kick off the fourth inning broke up Dalton’s no-hitter. A triple by Dante Terrell and a double by Shoultes brought the Bux-Mont League champs within three runs, but the momentum never changed hands.

Slightly disappointed to be shorthanded for the playoff game, the 10 in attendance for Pennridge never stopped believing they could win. And though they now needed to beat Souderton to advance to Saturday’s championship game, they still held faith.

“Dante got us going and Ben shut the door, but it was too big of a hole to dig out of,” Snider said. “I was disappointed to have a few guys missing. At this point, if we get the championship game I might go with these 10 because they stayed with us, but we have to get there firsW.”

While Dalton’s one walked batter to Pennridge’s eight is staggering, the defense behind Dalton made the biggest difference. The PLddle Lnfield RI BrDd 0LsLalek and A.J. Molitierre wDs crLsS Dnd cenWerfielder Danny Shane showed off his leather on several occasions. Deep Run will need the same effort Saturday afternoon if they want to win WheLr firsW sWDWe chDPSLRnshLS since 2008.

“Dan, A.J. and Brad helped out so much,” Dalton said. “We needed this game. We have been really even keeled through tournament, whether we have been up or down. We are ready to win a championship.”
