That’s when Meara stepped up and roped a two RBI sin­gle passed the div­ing short­stop to win the game and keep Soud­er­ton breath­ing.

“Com­ing out of the nine hole all I was look­ing for was a fast­ball,” Meara said. “I knew I hit it hard, I was just hop­ing Plank (the lead win­ning run) was go­ing to score.”

“It’s never a dull in­ning with us,” Meara said. “When the top gets on, we roll. I was more ex­cited than ner­vous. ,W wDs Py firsW bLJ shRW WR be the man for these guys. I think I took ad­van­tage of that.”

Brown was hap­pier for his play­ers than any­thing else.

“They are very charged,” Brown said. “Now we have to sit around for a cou­ple hours, but it is what it is. We get to play an­other game and I am very ex­cited for these kids.”
