Souderton walks off against Doylestown
start off the inning before Whe firsW RuW wDs recRrded. Dave Straub, pitching hero from just last week, brought his team within one by walking with the bases loaded. That’s when Meara stepped up and roped a two RBI single passed the diving shortstop to win the game and keep Souderton breathing.
“Coming out of the nine hole all I was looking for was a fastball,” Meara said. “I knew I hit it hard, I was just hoping Plank (the lead winning run) was going to score.”
“It’s never a dull inning with us,” Meara said. “When the top gets on, we roll. I was more excited than nervous. ,W wDs Py firsW bLJ shRW WR be the man for these guys. I think I took advantage of that.”
Brown was happier for his players than anything else.
“They are very charged,” Brown said. “Now we have to sit around for a couple hours, but it is what it is. We get to play another game and I am very excited for these kids.”
