Knights, Maidens race past CB South, Souderton
Proven veterans and some impressive newcomers propelled the North Penn boys and girls cross country teams to a pair of wins over SoudHrWon ArHa anG CHnWraO BuFNs South Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights pushed past WKH 7LWans, 18-43, anG WKH Indians, 18-45, in this Suburban lne Continental Conference tri-meet, and the Maidens won 20-40 over South and 15-50 over Souderton on the girls side.
7KH 6ouWK Eoys won 24-35 over Souderton and the South gLrOs won 16-45 ovHr WKH BLg 5HG.

“We were a little nervous but we got through it,” Clowser said. “We’re a team — wH aOways WaON HaFK oWKHr through it. We do (have a SrHWWy gooG SaFN). :H aOways stay together out there and push each other.”
Typical of how the Maidens are seemingly interchangeable up front, it was Clowser who had the lead in the early going and then 9OasLF SusKHG aKHaG OaWH.
“I just wanted to stay focused — it’s all really a mental thing for me,” Clowser said of her strong race. “I never tell myself to let down. , MusW NHHS goLng.”

“I’m pleased with where we are, and there were some nice surprises today,” Big 5HG FoaFK -LP 2’1HLOO saLG. “We’ve got to move toward the top. I expect us to do that.”
Souderton heads to Hershey on Saturday for an invitational and a chance to get in a preview run on the state championship course, and the North Penn girls will EH KHaGLng Wo WKH BuOO 5un Invitational, which is held at the site of the Maryland state championships.
