Thelma sirginia (Rapp) Karr, 89, of Worcester, formerly of Lansdale and Ambler, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Meadowood at Worcester. She was the wife of the late Streeper Karr, III.
Born April 7, 1923, in Kimberton, she was the daughter of the late sernon Rapp and Fyeatta (Scherer) Rapp. She married Mr. Karr in 1955 and worked as his partner for almost 50 years in their homebuilding business.
Mrs. Karr was a member of Central Schwenkfelder church. She was a member of the DAR, serving as an offiFHU IRU ERWK FKDSWHU DQG VWDWH level. Earlier, she was active with girl scouts as a volunteer as troop leader and also held leadership roles at the district level. Mrs. Karr was a former member of dlenside r.C.C. where she taught Sunday school and was active with the women’s circle. She loved traveling, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Susan Nydick, and her husband Robert L. Jr. of Lower dwynedd; Sara dowing and her husband James of Lower dwynedd; her sisters, Arleen Favinger, Mary Ann Springer, Evelyn Landis, and Joan Diener; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Relatives and friends attended her funeral at 3 p.m. on Sunday September 16, 2012 at Central Schwenkfelder Church, 2111 salley Forge Rd., Lansdale Pa 19446, where friends called for the viewing from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery.
