Art show sched­uled to sup­port can­cer fund

A lo­cal artist, a Lans­dale res­tau­rant and two non­prof­its are team­ing up to raise money for a good cause.

On Oct. 14, Dis­cover Lans­dale, ois­torante Toscano and Home Helpers will host an art show fea­tur­ing wa­ter­col­ors by artist Howard Wat­son to raise money to help can­cer pa­tients.

The art show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Toscano, lo­cated at 213 N. Broad St., and all pro­ceeds will go to For Pete’s Sake Can­cer oe­spite Foun­da­tion, a nRnSrR­fiW WhDW hHOSs yRunJ adult can­cer pa­tients be- tween 24 and 50 years old and their fam­i­lies.

For Pete’s Sake of­fers pa­tients a respite from the de­mands of their treat­ment by pro­vid­ing week­long va­ca­tions to homes and re­sorts in Florida, the Po­conos, New Jersey, Cal­i­for­nia, the Caroli­nas and the Caribbean, ac­cord­ing to a Dis­cover Lans­dale press re­lease.

Wat­son is a na­tion­al­lyrec­og­nized wa­ter­color artist and il­lus­tra­tor whose work has been com­mis­sioned by for­mer Pres­i­dents Jimmy Carter and BLOO COLnWRn, IRrPHr 9LFH Pres­i­dent Wal­ter Mon­dale, singer Perry Como, bas­ket­ball coach Jack oam­sey, sports­caster Tom Brook­shier and art col­lec­tor Set Momjian.

Dis­cover Lans­dale helps or­ga­nize and pro­mote events to help make the bor­ough a vi­able, safe, and clean des­ti­na­tion for vis­i­tors and Home Helpers is a bor­ough-based provider of care­giv­ing and home sup­port ser­vices that is in­spired by clients who bat­tle can­cer and the fam­i­lies who sup­port them.
