Art show scheduled to support cancer fund
A local artist, a Lansdale restaurant and two nonprofits are teaming up to raise money for a good cause.
On Oct. 14, Discover Lansdale, oistorante Toscano and Home Helpers will host an art show featuring watercolors by artist Howard Watson to raise money to help cancer patients.
The art show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Toscano, located at 213 N. Broad St., and all proceeds will go to For Pete’s Sake Cancer oespite Foundation, a nRnSrRfiW WhDW hHOSs yRunJ adult cancer patients be- tween 24 and 50 years old and their families.
For Pete’s Sake offers patients a respite from the demands of their treatment by providing weeklong vacations to homes and resorts in Florida, the Poconos, New Jersey, California, the Carolinas and the Caribbean, according to a Discover Lansdale press release.
Watson is a nationallyrecognized watercolor artist and illustrator whose work has been commissioned by former Presidents Jimmy Carter and BLOO COLnWRn, IRrPHr 9LFH President Walter Mondale, singer Perry Como, basketball coach Jack oamsey, sportscaster Tom Brookshier and art collector Set Momjian.
Discover Lansdale helps organize and promote events to help make the borough a viable, safe, and clean destination for visitors and Home Helpers is a borough-based provider of caregiving and home support services that is inspired by clients who battle cancer and the families who support them.
