She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Care C Share Thrift Shop, Souderton Mennonite Homes and the Fresh Air Program and a member of the Penn Foundation Auxiliary. She was also a member of Souderton Mennonite Church, where she served as an elder, was involved with the Bible study programs, prayer ministry and visitation. Myrtle was well- known for her encouraging notes and her listening ear. She is survived by four children, H. Ray Mininger and his wife, Nancy, Nancy Landes and her husband, Merrill, Carolyn Derstine and her husband, Mark, and Mary Benner and her husband, Steve, all of Telford, Pa.; a sister, Janet Beer and her husband, Kenneth, of Perkasie, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Bertha Moyer, widow of Clyde Moyer, of Souderton, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harley and Clyde Moyer.
Friends were invited to greet the family on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut St., Souderton, Pa., from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
