North Penn stunned by CB South

“I’m friends with so many guys who played Efor) North Penn in the pastI” the senior said. “And knowing that we let them downI it just hurts the most.”
It took a dramatic secondhalf comeback from visiting Central Bucks South criday nightI but North Penn’s PMgame conference unbeaten run came to end on Homecoming at Crawford Stadium.
South quarterback John Pileggi found Cale Mosher for an 18-yard touchdown pass with 1:MP remaining and the visiting Titans stayed undefeated by rallying back from 1S down at the half to beat the hnights PS-O9.
“They outplayed usI” said North Penn coach Dick Beck of the second half. “They came out with some energy and stopped us on WKH firVW GrLYH. , WKRuJKW ZH missed a couple plays we had out there. And I was a little disappointed about that. LookI when it’s time to make a playI you’ve either got to make the play or not.”
CB South trailed OP-T at halftime after being outgained PO9-ROI but the Titans ES-MI P-M conference) scored on all four of their second-half possessions to hand the hnights EP-PI O-1) WKHLr firVW-HYHr ORVV Ln WKH SOL Continental.
“We are so pumpedI” Pileggi said. “We knew we could do it after halftime. We knew we could score points fast.”
North Penn’s last defeat in conference play was as a member of the SOL NationalI as CB South beat the hnights 41-OT in Week 1M of the OMMT season.
The hnights held South’s 1IMMM-yard sophomore running back Josh Adams to just SP yards on O1 carries — although Adams did score on a 9R-yard kickoff return — but had no answer Pileggi and the Titans’ passing attack. The senior quarterback was 18-of-OT for OP8 yards and four touchdowns – two each to Mosher and Paul Weeks.
“I think we were kind of too focused on No. 1O EAdams)I he’s such a hell of a playerI” Gozur said. “I meanI at that pointI we’ve just got to be able to make some plays. Just got to be able to make those little plays.”
Steve seal led South with six catches for 8S yards. Mosher had 81 yards on six receptionsI while Weeks PDGH fiYH FDWFKHV IRr 65 yards.
“I thought we did a nice job against the runI but when you’re stopping the runI you’ve got to be able to cover the passI” Beck said.

North Penn threw for OS1 yardsI as Austin Shearer went R-of-T for 14R yards and Mike Berstecher completed 8-of-1T passes for 11S yards and two touchdowns. hris Akins paced the hnights with four receptions for 11R yards and a score.
North Penn — which had a two-game win streak snapped — looks to bounce back against Hatboro-Horsham at home criday. CB South faces the only other unbeaten in the SOL Continental criday as it visits Pennridge.
“We’ve got to work hard and see if we can make the playoffsI” Beck said. “That’s where we’re at right now.”
After the Titans pulled to within OP-O1 in the thirdI North Penn responded by pushing its advantage to O9OP on Gozur’s R-yard touchdown run with 9:48 left. A missed extra point kept the margin eight.
South proceeded to march SR yards on 1M plays to tie the contestI as Pileggi found Weeks for a 1M-yard touchdown at R:R4 then connected with Mosher for the twopoint conversion.
1RrWK 3Hnn PDGH RnH firVW down on its next driveI but had to punt from its own PS. Pileggi opened the Titans’ series – which began at the South OT with O:PR left – with a PT-yard pass to seal. Two plays laterI the hnights were called for pass interferenceI setting CB South up at the North Penn O1.
On third-and-TI Pileggi found Mosher in the middle RI WKH fiHOG, ZLWK WKH VHnLRr wide receiver shedding a few tackles before racing into the end zone for an 18yard touchdown with only SP seconds left.
“I’m looking left at the linebacker and he dropped back and I know Cale’s probably one of the best receiving running with the ball in the leagueI” Pileggi said. “He’s fastI he’s slippery. I know he can make a play.”
North Penn got to the RM before Shearer completed a Hail Mary to Colton Pyne short of the end zone as time expired.
