Owen W. Rowland
lwen t. Rowland, age 9M, a resident of Towamencin Township for the past 5P years, died lct. 21, 2M12, at Abington eospice at tarminster. ee is survived by his loving wife of S4 years, Ruth Ehossol) Rowland. The two were married in 1948 and previously resided in Philadelphia and Ardsley.
Born lct. 27, 1921, in Patton, Pa., lwen was a son of the late Richard and Minnie Eiyle) Rowland and was the youngest of six children.
fn 1942, while serving with the state police, Mr. Rowland enlisted in the U.S. kavy and saw action aboard the Destroyer USS tainwright in the Atlantic DQG 0HGLWHUUDQHDQ flHHWV. ee received an honorable discharge in 194S.
Mr. Rowland graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s tharton School in 1951. For more than PM years, he was employed by United bngineers & Constructors in various capacities including project buyer, manager of equal employment opportunity, legal administrator and tax manager.
ee was an active member of the iansdale United Methodist Church and sang in its choir since 1959. ee also served for several years as Cherub Choir accompanist, editor of the church newsletter and later as coordinator for Red Cross blood drives.
fn addition to his wife, Mr. Rowland is survived by their two daughters, hathleen tong and her husband, Richard, of Florham Park, k.J., and Cynthia iesitsky and her husband, Jeffrey, of Salfordville; four grandchil- dren; and three great-grandchildren.
ee was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Robert, nuentin and Vernon Rowland; and his sister, June Rowland.
An opportunity to view and greet the family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, lct. 25, 2M12, at euff & iakjer Funeral eome, 7M1 Derstine Ave., iansdale, Pa. fnterment will be private in thitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. kov. 5, 2M12, at iansdale United Methodist Church, PMM korth Broad St., iansdale.
