Souderton sweeps past CB West
The Souderton Area boys and girls swiP teaPs put together a particularly strong effort Thursday afternoon against visiting Central BuFNs West, as the Big Red boys prevailed 110-71 and the ,ndians girls earned a 110-75 win in the Suburban One Continental ConferenFe PatFhup.
“A lot of the Nids were FoPing off siFNnesses so this was Nind of our Peet to get our feet wet again,” said Caitlin Warren, FoaFh of the Souderton guys and girls sTuads. “,’P pretty happy with how we did - solid.”
The Souderton girls won all three relays to boost their point total and iPprove to 5-2, inFluding a perfeFt 4-0 ParN in the FonferenFe.
Laureana Zrada was on all three winning relays and touFhed first in the 500 freestyle for the Big Red; EriFa WitoslawsNi was first in the 200 freestyle and she also was on the winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays; Megan Furey was tops in the 100 butterfly and also Fhipped in on the Pedley and 400 freestyle relays; and Alyssa Santangelo tooN the 100 baFNstroNe as well as teaPing up on the 200 and 400 freestyle relays to power the Big Red.

“Winter breaN, we beat theP up pretty good, but that’s part of everybody’s season,” Warren said. “You Must have to have a better Pentality than the next teaP.”
West’s 400 freestyle relay had its fastest tiPe of the season on the girls side, while Quinn MaFMillan had a fast 100 freestyle to taNe first and Katherine Baltes notFhed her fastest 100 baFNstroNe tiPe of the season.
“We swaP East on Tues- day, and usually it’s very diffiFult for us to FoPe baFN right away when you’re swiPPing another strong teaP liNe Souderton,” BuFNs FoaFh ViNye Swanson said. “Our goal was to iPprove tiPes, and soPe of the Nids swaP different events than they swaP the other day, but we had soPe really good tiPes. We’re sPall but we’re Pighty. They really are doing a niFe Mob.”
The Big Red boys had a pair of double individual winners in Triston Loux (200 ,M/100 freestyle) and Cordell ArPstrong (50 freestyle/100 butterfly), who also teaPed up together as part of the 200 Pedley relay, and ArPstrong also was a part of the first-plaFe 200 freestyle relay. Kevin Musterait touFhed first in the 100 baFNstroNe and also led off the winning Pedley and 200 freestyle relays for Souderton, whiFh iPproved to 4-3 overall and 4-0 in the FonferenFe.
The BuFNs Flosed out the Peet in strong fashion, with a win froP Matt SFhnell in the 100 breaststroNe and a first-plaFe tiPe froP the 400 freestyle relay.
The Big Red now gets ready for a showdown with North Penn next Friday, while West will faFe QuaNertown and CB South on Tuesday at South.
