Soud­er­ton sweeps past CB West

The Soud­er­ton Area boys and girls swiP teaPs put to­gether a par­tic­u­larly strong ef­fort Thurs­day af­ter­noon against vis­it­ing Cen­tral BuFNs West, as the Big Red boys pre­vailed 110-71 and the ,ndi­ans girls earned a 110-75 win in the Sub­ur­ban One Con­ti­nen­tal Con­fer­enFe PatFhup.

“A lot of the Nids were FoPing off siFN­nesses so this was Nind of our Peet to get our feet wet again,” said Caitlin War­ren, FoaFh of the Soud­er­ton guys and girls sTuads. “,’P pretty happy with how we did - solid.”

The Soud­er­ton girls won all three re­lays to boost their point to­tal and iPprove to 5-2, in­Flud­ing a per­feFt 4-0 ParN in the Fon­fer­enFe.

Lau­re­ana Zrada was on all three win­ning re­lays and touFhed first in the 500 freestyle for the Big Red; EriFa Wi­toslawsNi was first in the 200 freestyle and she also was on the win­ning 200 and 400 freestyle re­lays; Me­gan Furey was tops in the 100 but­ter­fly and also Fhipped in on the Ped­ley and 400 freestyle re­lays; and Alyssa San­tan­gelo tooN the 100 baFNstroNe as well as teaPing up on the 200 and 400 freestyle re­lays to power the Big Red.

Soud­er­ton shooN off ill­ness and fa­tigue to FoPe out with the Fon­fer­enFe viF­tory.

“Win­ter breaN, we beat theP up pretty good, but that’s part of ev­ery­body’s sea­son,” War­ren said. “You Must have to have a bet­ter Pen­tal­ity than the next teaP.”

West’s 400 freestyle re­lay had its fastest tiPe of the sea­son on the girls side, while Quinn MaFMil­lan had a fast 100 freestyle to taNe first and Kather­ine Baltes notFhed her fastest 100 baFNstroNe tiPe of the sea­son.

“We swaP East on Tues- day, and usu­ally it’s very dif­fiFult for us to FoPe baFN right away when you’re swiP­Ping an­other strong teaP liNe Soud­er­ton,” BuFNs FoaFh ViNye Swan­son said. “Our goal was to iPprove tiPes, and soPe of the Nids swaP dif­fer­ent events than they swaP the other day, but we had soPe really good tiPes. We’re sPall but we’re Pighty. They really are do­ing a niFe Mob.”

The Big Red boys had a pair of dou­ble in­di­vid­ual win­ners in Tris­ton Loux (200 ,M/100 freestyle) and Cordell ArPstrong (50 freestyle/100 but­ter­fly), who also teaPed up to­gether as part of the 200 Ped­ley re­lay, and ArPstrong also was a part of the first-plaFe 200 freestyle re­lay. Kevin Musterait touFhed first in the 100 baFNstroNe and also led off the win­ning Ped­ley and 200 freestyle re­lays for Soud­er­ton, whiFh iPproved to 4-3 over­all and 4-0 in the Fon­fer­enFe.

The BuFNs Flosed out the Peet in strong fash­ion, with a win froP Matt SFh­nell in the 100 breast­stroNe and a first-plaFe tiPe froP the 400 freestyle re­lay.

The Big Red now gets ready for a show­down with North Penn next Fri­day, while West will faFe QuaNer­town and CB South on Tues­day at South.

Soud­er­ton’s Cordell Arm­strong makes his turn as com­petes in a 100 but­ter­fly in Thurs­day’s Sub­ur­ban One Amer­i­can Con­fer­ence meet against Cen­tral Bucks West.
