In the end, the Crusaders’ huge advantage in rebounding, along with its 16-for-17 effort from the free throw line, was enough to give LC a convincing 53-39 win over the Lancers in a Philadelphia Catholic League meeting at Bishop McDevitt on Thursday night.
The Crusaders (7-9, 4-3F received game highs of 19 SRLQWs DQG fivH bORFNHG sKRWs from sophomore Shaline Miller, who hit all seven of her free throw attempts.
“It’s good because last year, we weren’t that great of a free throw shooting team,” LC coach Heather Glemser said. “Free throw shooting this season is much improved, so I’m really proud of the girls to be able to go to the line and shoot so well.”

“We were hurting,” McDevitt coach Steve Prescott said. “Our point guard (DaCostaF got hurt in the (ArchbishopF Wood game and not having her in the starting lineup really hurt us. We’re a young team and we have ups and downs, but we’re struggling here and there. We’re less balanced without her in there, even when the other team is trapping.”
