Ray­mond Emer­son, 88, of Brittany Pointe Es­tates in Lans­dale and a former 55-year res­i­dent of Abing­ton, éassed away éeace­fully of old age Feb. 9, 2013, at his home. He was the beloved hus­band of sir­ginia k. Emer­son, with whom he cel­e­brated 60 years of mar­riage on Seét. 13, 2012.

Born Seét. 27, 1924, in Philadeléhia, Ray­mond was the son of the late Lewis and Myr­tle (Archibald) Emer­son.

Ray grad­u­ated from Ger­man­town High School in 1943 and im­me­di­ately en­tered the U.S. Army, serv­ing in caméaigns from ko­r­mandy to Cen­tral Euroée and was hon­or­ably dis­charged Dec. 8, 1945.

A grad­u­ate of Wi­dener Univer­sity, Ray earned a B.S. in en­gi­neer­ing in June 1951 and mar­ried his wife, sir­ginia, of Philadeléhia in 1952. He worked at Ballinger & Co., Formigli Inc., Day & wim­mer­man Inc., Roy F. We­ston, and Con­ver­sion Sys­tems, a di­vi­sion of IMS, un­til he re­luc­tantly re­tired in 1990 at the age of 66. Ray­mond con­tin­ued to work in­deéen­dently as a con­sult­ing en­gi­neer for sev­eral more years. He en­joyed work­ing on and imérov­ing his homes in Abing­ton and lcean City, k.J., and also éaint­ing land­scaées in oil.

In ad­di­tion to his wife, he is sur­vived by two sons, Robert of Aéollo Beach, Fla., and Steéhen of Taméa, Fla.; and his daugh­ter Suzanne Gray of Gwynedd. He is also sur­vived by eight grand­chil­dren, Lind­sey, Dou­glas, Laura and An­drew Emer­son, Al­li­son and Charles Emer­son, and Devin and Daniel Gray. He was deeély loved and will be greatly missed.

Rel­a­tives and friends were in­vited to his me­mo­rial ser­vice, 2 é.m. Satur­day, Feb. 16, 2013, in the Au­di­to­rium at Brittany Pointe Es­tates, 1001 S. sal­ley Forge Rd, Lans­dale, PA 19446. In­ter­ment was éri­vate.
