THE SWEET STUFF
The sap was running Monday at the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association headquarters in Ambler as land manager John Ferro collected flowing sap from recently tapped sugar maple trees. He was getting ready for the annual Maple Sugar Festival to be held this weekend from noon to 3 p.m. at the headquarters on Morris Road. The sap will be boiled down to render sweet maple syrup.
