Mar­ion E. Carver

Mar­ion E. Carver, 93, of Quak­er­town and for­merly of Telford, passed away on her birth­day, March 28, 2013, at Grand View Hospi­tal. She is sur­vived by her beloved hus­band of 71 years, Harold W. Carver.

Born March 28, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., Mar­ion was the daugh­ter of the late An­thony and Emily (Yates) Sim­mer. Mrs. Carver worked at Vo­gel and Fein­gold in Telford, and she went on to work as a seam­stress at Mer­rill Lan­dis Draperies in Telford un­til her re­tire­ment. In her free time, she en­joyed read­ing, cross- word puzzles and knit­ting. Above all else, she loved spend­ing time with her fam­ily and es­pe­cially cher­ished her role as “Grand­mom.”

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band, Mar­ion is sur­vived by three chil­dren, Harold Carver Jr. and his wife, Con­nie, of Bech­telsville, Lynn Ren­ner and her hus­band, Tom, of Telford, and Carol Jean Sadler and her hus­band, Dennis, of Perkiomenville; seven grand­chil­dren; 12 great-grand­chil­dren; two step- great- grand­chil­dren; and two brothers, Gor­don Sim­mer, of Ocala, Fla., and Thomas Sim­mer, of Cincin­nati, Ohio.

She was pre­ceded in death by a great-grand­son, An­drew Ren­ner; a brother, Neo Sim­mer; and a sis­ter, Ruth Sauers.

Ser­vices were held Mon­day, April 1, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 107 Lin­coln Ave., Telford, PA 18969. In­ter­ment was in St. Paul’s Ceme­tery, Telford.
