Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville, will be hosting the following events:
• A Traditional Oil Painting Workshop: Tuesdays, April 30 through June 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The workshop, led by accomplished Bucks County artist Dot Bunn, will emphasize building a good composition and the control of values and color. The total workshop fee for the six weeks is $240 ($215 members). Pre registration is required. A list of supplies needed for the class will be furnished upon registration. The Gospel Choir from the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany will perform at Advent Lutheran Church in Harleysville May 12 at 8:30 a.m. and St Peter’s Lutheran Church in North Whales May 13 at 7 p.m. The Gospel Choir, under the direction of Thomas Herzer, is over thirty members strong. It includes not only members from the Castle Church, but also several singers from the Wittenberg community. The Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany was built around the turn of the 16th century. It is the site where, in 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Thesis on the door; an act which many consider the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
North Penn Arts Alliance Artists to show at the Morgan Log House, 850 Weikel Road, Lansdale: Space inside the Morgan Log House will be used to display the works of the members of the North Penn Arts Alliance. From April to October, individual artists will have their works on display inside this unique historic structure. The displaying artists of the North Penn Arts Alliance will display works depicting historical landscapes. Each month, an individual member will have the opportunity to display their artworks either two-dimensional or WKUHH-GLPHnVLRnDO. 7KH fiUVW artist to show his work will be Ed Kane April 1 to 29.
