Talisman Players presents: the musical, How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying). Opens Sept. 15 in Schaeffer Auditorium, at Kutztown University. The story follows Finch (Brock Rabenold) a bright, eager young man who will do just about anything to get ahead, as long as he doesn’t have to work very hard! He navigates a love interest (Megan Laudenslager), a conniving, weasly coworker (Crede Cooper), and many hilarious speed bumps on his rise to the top. Will young Finch make it? Will he SUCCEED? Allentown & Auburn Railroad Wine Tasting: Sept. 16 and 17 at Kutztown Train Station. Ride in traditional coach, open air car, caboose or a Doodlebug. Wine tasting consists of four pairings during the train ride. The trains make a stop at picnic grove along the railroad where the winery will be set up to serve more wine by the bottle, glass or case as well as other goodies. Start to finish the entire ride takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes including the stop at the grove. 9th Annual Pig Roast and Car Show: Salem Church, 2150 Old Route 22, Lenhartsville. Farm vehicles, bloodmobile, silent auction, contests, activities for adults and children, live music and food. Car show staged in front parking lot includes classics, customs, hot rods and antiques and motorcycles. Gates open for vehicle entries at 11 a.m.; show runs from noon to 3 p.m. Prizes are awarded.

Berks County Genealogical Society presents Collectibles and Antiques Appraisals: with Terry Breidenstine of All County Jewelry, Coins and Antiques. Basket Bingo Fundraiser for the Kempton Fire Co.: All baskets are filled with items and there will also be door prizes. Doors open at noon, games begin at 1:30. $20 a ticket which includes all 33 games. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the volunteer firefighters.

Bereavement discussion on children and grief: The Lutheran Home at Topton’s monthly bereavement forum will host a free program on “Children and Grief: Ways to Talk about Death and Dying with Children” at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20. The Diakon senior living community, 1 South Home Ave., Topton, hosts the bereavement forum each month in Deibert Hall on the first floor of the skilled nursing care center on the Topton campus. The forums are sponsored by Ludwick Funeral Homes of Topton and Kutztown. To participate RSVP to 610-682-1334.
