Springdale bank robbed
SPRINGDALE — A man robbed an Arvest Bank branch on Thursday morning.
Police went to the bank at 3950 W. Sunset Ave. after they received a robbery report about 9:50 a.m., according to a news release issued by Lt. Jeff Taylor.
Police were told upon arrival a white male between the age 35 and 45 approached a teller and demanded money, Taylor said.
“The male then left the bank with an unknown amount of money,” Taylor said. “No weapons were used and no one was injured.”
The doors to the bank were locked after the robbery and one of the parking lot entrances was blocked by a Springdale Police car.
There has been a string of recent bank robberies in the area including:
Arvest Bank at 1113 Garland Ave. in Fayetteville on Jan. 3.
First National Bank at 350 E. Centerton Blvd. in Centerton on Dec. 23.
First National Bank at 4000 Johnson Mill Blvd. in Johnson on Nov. 28.
A member of the Springdale Police Department enters Thursday the Arvest Bank at Sunset Avenue and 40th Street. The bank was robbed Thursday morning. The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money, said Lt. Shane Pegram of the Police Department.
