Airport tower named best facility of ’16
The control tower at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Highfill was named the 2016 Facility of the Year by Robinson Aviation Inc. of Oklahoma City. Robinson Aviation provides air traffic control tower services at 97 airports in the Southeast and Southern United States under contract with the Federal Aviation Administration.
The Northwest Arkansas airport is one of a few FAA contract towers that provides air traffic services to many highperformance aircraft, commercial and corporate, on instrument flight plans.
Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport is the fourth-busiest FAA contract tower for aircraft on instrument flight plans.
Facility of the year selection criteria includes internal and external audit results, customer satisfaction and airport manager surveys, air traffic safety record, employee involvement and resource management.
