The Fayetteville Lions Club installed a slate of new officers on June 17 at the home of Lions Rick and Sydney Bailey. Incoming officers for 2017-18 include Lt. Col. Steve Gray (USAF, Ret.), president; CW5 Rick Bailey (U.S. Army, Ret.), past president; Dr. Tammy Smith, first vice president; Danny Walters, second vice president; Karen Yandell, secretary; Kevin Thompson, treasurer; Duane Woltjen, Don Yandell, Bill Shackelford and Sydney Bailey, directors; Dr. Mike Scribner, lion tamer; and Dana Davis and Don Yandell, Tail Twisters.
Incoming president Steve Gray presented the Fayetteville Lion of the Year award to outgoing president Rick Bailey.
World Services for the Blind: Silver Cane award was presented to Lion Ruth Cohoon by president Rick Bailey.
Lion Karen Yandell received the Melvin Jones Award from president Rick Bailey.
Present at the $6,000 check presentation June 21 was guest speaker Washington County Judge Joseph Wood, with Fayetteville Lions Club president Rick Bailey, and Brad Baker, CEO of Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing Services.
