Superintendent assistants’ desks
■ Bentonville: Vicki Lunsford keeps a one-inch binder that documents the district’s history at her desk. It was started by the previous superintendent’s assistant. The binder contains an entry on a New Kids on the Block concert that took place in 1988 and raised $5 million in funding for a renovation of the Old High Middle School auditorium.
■ Fayetteville: Paula Neal says her desk looked a little disheveled and organized, but she always knew where things were. When she cleaned her desk, she couldn’t find what she needed.
■ Springdale: School Board President Randy Hutchinson knows Cynthia Newman’s desk by the stacks she keeps. “She knows exactly where everything is.”
■ Rogers: Wilma Barnes’ desk is easy to spot because of her clock with Mickey Mouse and her “little doggy.” Children, including her grandchildren, like to look for the dog when they pass her desk. Barnes has a set of costumes for the dog. She’s had it since she worked in Russellville.
