Missing woman, 82, from Decatur found alive, well
The Decatur woman who went missing Thursday was found Friday night alive and well.
Margaret Herod, 82, had minor injuries, was coherent and only asked for a Mountain Dew after she was found, according to a Benton County Sheriff’s Office statement.
The Sheriff’s Office sent out a Silver Alert around 3:40 p.m. Thursday for Herod, who has dementia and had wandered away from her home that morning.
Herod was taken to a hospital for further evaluation around 11 p.m. Friday. Officials did not release where she was found or the hospital to which she was taken.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office credited its success to several other agencies who assisted in the search, including Tri-County Search and Rescue, Benton County Search and Rescue, Franklin County Emergency Management, Siloam Springs Police Department, Bentonville Police Department and others.
