Legion post name changed, but achievements remain

Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette - - EDITORIAL PAGE -

For the last 12 years, the American Legion Post 341 in Bella Vista has been called American Legion Marshall S. Sayner Post 341. Recently, by vote, the post has been renamed W.E. “Rocky” Glidwell Post 341. I don’t know why.

I only knew Marshall Sayner during his last years in Bella Vista. He and his wife, Grace, are dead. From my view, Marshall was a giant. His entire life in Bella Vista revolved around American Legion. No one, in my estimation, did more to benefit the community and American Legion Post 341 than Marshall Sayner. I don’t think you’d find a more successful salesman for the American Legion. The post ranked among the top three in the state, thanks to Marshall.
