Deputies investigating stabbing near Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE — Deputies are investigating a reported stabbing at 2905 Rom Orchard Road, just east of Fayetteville.
The stabbing was reported at 5:48 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The release reported deputies found a victim with multiple, non-life threatening stab wounds. The release didn’t list whether the victim was male or female, nor did it list an age.
Officials said the suspect ran into nearby woods behind the home. Police dogs from Fayetteville’s Police Department were called to help find the man. The search was suspended when they weren’t able to track the suspect.
Officials say the suspect in the stabbing is a white male in his early to mid-20s with short blond hair. He’s said to be about 6 feet all and weight about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, jeans and white athletic shoes.
The investigation is continuing. No further information was available Thursday evening.
