Deputies in­ves­ti­gat­ing stab­bing near Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — Deputies are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a re­ported stab­bing at 2905 Rom Or­chard Road, just east of Fayetteville.

The stab­bing was re­ported at 5:48 p.m. Thurs­day, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease from the Wash­ing­ton County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

The re­lease re­ported deputies found a vic­tim with mul­ti­ple, non-life threat­en­ing stab wounds. The re­lease didn’t list whether the vic­tim was male or fe­male, nor did it list an age.

Of­fi­cials said the sus­pect ran into nearby woods be­hind the home. Po­lice dogs from Fayetteville’s Po­lice Depart­ment were called to help find the man. The search was sus­pended when they weren’t able to track the sus­pect.

Of­fi­cials say the sus­pect in the stab­bing is a white male in his early to mid-20s with short blond hair. He’s said to be about 6 feet all and weight about 160 pounds. He was last seen wear­ing a blue T-shirt, jeans and white ath­letic shoes.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is con­tin­u­ing. No fur­ther in­for­ma­tion was avail­able Thurs­day evening.
