State index up 3.88; Dillard’s soars 6.3%
The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, rose 3.88 to 340.57 Thursday.
Thirteen stocks rose, four fell and one was unchanged.
Dillard’s jumped 6.3 percent on heavy volume.
USA Truck climbed 3.3 percent in active trading.
P.A.M. Transportation lost 1.9 percent in light trading.
Total volume for the index was 21.6 million shares.
The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
