Po­lice say man, 25, beaten

FAYETTEVILLE — A 25-year-old man was taken to Washington Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter early Fri­day morn­ing af­ter po­lice said he was beaten in the park­ing lot of Ar­saga’s at the De­pot on Dickson Street.

The man was taken to the hospi­tal in se­ri­ous con­di­tion, said Becky Ste­wart, Cen­tral EMS chief.

Po­lice were called to 548 W. Dickson St. at 5:07 a.m. for an in­tox­i­cated per­son, ac­cord­ing to the on­line dis­patch log.

Po­lice haven’t re­leased the man’s name and are try­ing to no­tify fam­ily. They haven’t yet been able to talk with him be­cause he’s in the in­ten­sive care unit, po­lice spokesman Sgt. An­thony Mur­phy said Fri­day af­ter­noon.

There are no sus­pects in the case, Mur­phy said. An em­ployee at Ar­saga’s said no one was at the cafe at the time.
