SARAH WARE LR CHRISTIAN
Sarah Ware worked hard to earn a National Merit award, but it still caught her off guard when she learned she was a winner.
“I worked for it, but I didn’t expect it,” Ware said. “I was very proud of that, and I was also honored to win the Warrior Award our school gives. It’s something I can take a lot of pride in.”
Ware compiled more than her share of honors while attending Little Rock Christian Academy. She scored a 32 on the ACT and a 4.00 GPA. She also enjoyed success as a defensive specialist for the volleyball team — where she was third on the team in digs — and as a discus/ shot put competitor for the Lady Warriors’ track team.
This fall, Ware will attend the University of Mississippi in Oxford. She is not decided on a major, but she is considering going into the medical field.
“My dad is an eye surgeon, and I’ve grown up around doctors and the way they work,” Ware said. “I’ve always
enjoyed my science classes, and it’s always something I have been interested in pursuing.”
Ware’s academic awards include a Distinguished Scholar Award for mathematics during her senior year and awards for economics, biology, English, American history and biblical worldview during her junior year.
“I really enjoyed my math class my senior year,” Ware said. “I love math, and this was a very small class. We were able to work together well and enjoy each other.”
