Po­lice: Man, 21, found dead of ‘mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds’

SPRING­DALE — Po­lice are look­ing for Mei Ka Sin, 23, in con­nec­tion with a fa­tal shoot­ing at the Chapel Ridge Apart­ments on Mon­day night.

A shoot­ing was re­ported to po­lice at 7:48 p.m. at the com­plex at 5325 N. Oak St.

Offi-cers found Rwabuzisoni Daniel, 21, dead in one of the apart­ments with “what ap­peared to be mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds,” ac­cord­ing to a Spring­dale Po­lice Depart­ment news re­lease.

Daniel, who is from the Repub­lic of Bu­rundi, and Sin, who is from Myan­mar, were room­mates. Bu­rundi is in East Africa and bor­ders Rwanda. Myan­mar, pre­vi­ously known as Burma, is in South­east Asia east of In­dia.

No one else was in­jured, and no sus­pects are in cus­tody, ac­cord­ing to the re­lease.

The mo­tive be­hind the shoot­ing is un­known, Lt. Jeff Tay­lor said. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing and a war­rant for cap­i­tal mur­der has been is­sued through the Ben­ton County Pros­e­cu­tor’s of­fice.

The 18-build­ing com­plex is in the north­ern sec­tion of Spring­dale in Ben­ton County and is sur­rounded by Bethel Heights.

In the mid­dle of the day Tues­day, groups of chil­dren played on the swing sets and side­walk, bikes rested on al­most ev­ery rail­ing and sev­eral

par­ents swam with younger chil­dren in the pool.

Sev­eral renters said the apart­ments are filled with work­ing-class fam­i­lies, many Mar­shallese, and ev­ery­one pretty well gets along.

The busi­ness that man­ages Chapel Ridge, Lynd Co., based in San An­to­nio, didn’t re­spond to phone calls for com­ment.
