Bella Vista golf committee discusses 2018 budget
BELLA VISTA — The Joint Advisory Committee on Golf held a special meeting recently to talk about recommendations for the 2018 budget.
Committee member Susan Nuttall provided a list of some of the projects she would like to consider. Projects ranged from improved bunkers on several courses to play managers. She also proposed a system to allow golfers to check in via telephone. Other members of the committee contributed ideas as well.
Member Mary Riorden suggested the new gold tees, located closest to the greens for less powerful golfers, need to be upgraded with actual tee boxes rather than just signage.
Golf operations manager Darryl Muldoon wants more directional signage on all the courses.
Ruth Hatcher, a board member who serves as the liaison to the Golf Committee, said restrooms on all courses could be upgraded.
William Barr suggested more wildflowers on the courses along the highway.
In 2014, the Property Owners Association eliminated player assistants, also known as play managers, from the courses because of budget constraints. Several members of the Golf Committee would like to see them back.
