Laurie May, manager of the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, shows Tuesday one of several cats available for adoption at the shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way. Adoption fee is $45 for cats and $60 for dogs and includes spay or neutering and other services. The shelter will hold a Chip and Dip event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Allen’s grocery in Bella Vista. Dogs can be outfitted with a microchip for $10 and dog baths are $10. Anyone wanting a cat microchipped for $10 will receive a voucher, then they bring their cat to the shelter later to be fitted with the chip. The nonprofit shelter is funded by donations, May noted.
