Dead­line nears to ap­ply for tiller

The dead­line is draw­ing near for com­mu­nity gardening groups ap­ply­ing for the Keep Arkansas Beau­ti­ful Troy-Bilt Colt FT Gar­den Tiller Grant.

Any or­ga­ni­za­tion or group that is cur­rently tend­ing a com­mu­nity gar­den is wel­come to ap­ply by fill­ing out a form that in­cludes a de­scrip­tion of the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s ef­forts, its im­pact on its com­mu­nity and how the new tiller would help their gar­den. The form can be found at keeparkansas­beau­ti­ un­der the “Com­mu­nity Re­sources” tab.

The tiller, val­ued at $420, is suited for small and medium-size gar­dens and will be given to the win­ning or­ga­ni­za­tion at an event on Sept. 9, Na­tional Plant­ing Day.

The ap­pli­ca­tion dead­line is Tues­day and the win­ner will be no­ti­fied by Aug. 15.
