Elected reps should share coverage with all Americans

Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette - - EDITORIAL PAGE -

In reference to Russell Gayer’s July 23 letter “Politicians need to find another way,” I agree with his position. There are a lot of moderates who agree but never take the time to voice it.

I believe all elected officials and government employees should be on the same programs that everyday working people are on. They should be on Obamacare, pay into Social Security and if they want more retirement, enroll in a 401(k). (They have given themselves many raises and too much retirement.) Our representatives have allowed lobbyists to buy their votes.

Politicians who don’t uphold the laws they swore to enforce when they were elected will be the downfall of our great country.

Term limits should be voted in. Maybe then they would work for the people instead of themselves. R.T. REED Lincoln
