Where I live: Bentonville Occupation: Benton County Circuit Judge

My favorite space is: My recliner.

Why? I literally do everything in my recliner. In no certain order: I love naps in my recliner, especially the Sunday-afternoon-after-church-nap. I reflect on life and work in my recliner. I’ve watched my children open Christmas gifts in my recliner. I held my twins when they first got home from the hospital in my recliner. I still hold them 17 years later in my recliner. I’ve held my wife in my recliner. I’ve grown spiritually in my recliner. I’ve been yelled at in my recliner. I’ve watched world events unfold and the joys and tragedies of the nation in my recliner.

I’ve watched presidential elections and major sporting event champions crowned, and shouted “U-S-A!” in my recliner. I’ve called the Hogs thousands of times in my recliner.

My cat takes a daily nap with me and my dog puts his head on my arm for a pet while in my recliner. I read the weekly decisions of the Arkansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in my recliner. I’ve saved thousands of dollars watching movies in my recliner. In general, I’ve experienced many joys, tears, information and growth in my recliner and when the Lord says it is time to go I hope I leave this world peacefully from my recliner.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Change nothing. I love my recliner.
