412 By­pass work to close road lanes through week

LOW­ELL — Crews erect­ing bridge beams for the U.S. 412 by­pass will re­quire clos­ing all lanes on South Goad Springs Road in Ben­ton County for mul­ti­ple 15- minute pe­ri­ods all week.

Work­ers will pe­ri­od­i­cally close all lanes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to­day through Fri­day, weather per­mit­ting, be­tween West Ap­ple Blossom Road and Puppy Creek Road, ac­cord­ing to Arkansas Depart­ment of High­way and Trans­porta­tion of­fi­cials.

The work also will ne­ces­si­tate clos­ing son the Ra­zor­back Green­way.

The project is part of the depart­ment’s Con­nect­ing Arkansas Pro­gram.

The con­trac­tor is con­struct­ing about 4 miles of the four- lane U. S. 412 North­ern By­pass, which ex­tends from In­ter­state 49 to Arkansas 112.

The project is ex­pected to be com­pleted in mid2018 and will pro­vide a prin­ci­pal east- west route north of the Spring­dale area.
