■ The ghost of his dead mother haunts Garland Ashley, aged 12, who is living at the Juvenile Detention Home. He thought he saw her in a crowd on Main street Thursday night. He did not return to the home at bedtime and late at night, when he was met at the door he was shivering, his face was ghastly white. “I saw mamma,” he said, when questioned as to why he had been out so late. “She was all dressed in white. I got so scared I couldn’t walk home,” he told Mrs. J. Erickson, probation officer.
