Road closings set all week for South Goad Springs Street

Crews placing bridge beams for the U.S. 412 Northern Bypass will require closing all lanes on South Goad Springs Street for multiple 15-minute periods in Benton County through the end of the week, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

Continuing through Friday, workers will close lanes between West Apple Blossom Road and Puppy Creek Road. Lanes will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. This work also will necessitate closings on the Razorback Greenway Trail.

All vehicle traffic, cyclists and pedestrians will be stopped outside the ArDOT right-of-way until an all-clear directive is given. Advance warning signs will be placed to notify traffic approaching the closing. Flaggers will direct traffic.

Work associated with constructing the bypass also requires lane closings on Arkansas 112 all week.

Beginning Monday, one lane of traffic will remain open on Arkansas 112 between Carrie Smith Road and West Miller Road as crews lay pavement. The lane closings will alternate between the north and south lanes. Weather permitting, the lane closings will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday.

Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, traffic barrels and warning signs. Two lanes of traffic will be restored daily by 4 p.m.

Both projects are part of ArDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program. The contractor is constructing about four miles of the four-lane bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to Arkansas 112.
