Fans of the Today show may soon be waking up to a brand-new face! Kelly Clarkson is in talks to replace Megyn Kelly following the drama surrounding the former Fox News host’s controversial comments, sources tell OK!. “Kelly has cohosted Today many times and the hosts and staff adore her,” says an insider. According to reports, Kelly has already done test shoots for her anticipated daytime series, The Kelly Clarkson Show, which is set to premiere next fall. And while it was intended to serve as an afternoon lead-in to Ellen, network honchos may want to bump it up. “Execs are thinking it might be the perfect time to give Megyn’s Today slot to Kelly,” says the source. But there is one issue. “Today films in NYC and Kelly’s new show was planned to be produced out of L.A.,” says a second source, pointing out that the singer also stars as a coach on The Voice, which shoots on the West Coast. “Kelly could move to NYC, but they’d need to move The Voice there, too.” Not that it’s outside the realm of possibility given Kelly’s credentials. Adds the insider, “She already has a huge fan base and is extremely well-liked and relatable.” Stay tuned!
