You Don’t Know Squat!

Try these vari­a­tions on the clas­sic leg ex­er­cise.

Fess up! Are you a su­per­star squat­ter or does some­thing feel ... not so fab­u­lous when you hit the squat rack? Since no two bod­ies are built the same, not ev­ery­one is go­ing to rel­ish the same sorts of ex­er­cises, and this rings es­pe­cially true for squats. For­tu­nately, there are sev­eral vari­a­tions on the clas­sic squat, and if one doesn't seem to feel right for you, there's a long line of oth­ers wait­ing to be tried.

Oxy­gen makes it easy for you by break­ing down five com­mon squats. Test-drive a cou­ple of these al­ter­na­tives for your­self, sidelin-ing those you don't like and em­brac­ing those you do, adding them into your work­out. At the very least, you'll have a pocket full of op­tions for when the dudes are hog­ging the squat rack.
