Anne L’Heureux was an overweight teen — topping out at 185 pounds at age 14 — and started road cycling in 2010 as a way to get in shape. But in 2013, everything changed. “That’s when I completed my first Spartan Race at Fenway Park,” she says. “I had no idea what I was getting into, but by the end, I was hooked!”
Today, she races in the elite heats for Spartan and uses her nutritional knowledge to gain a competitive edge. “I believe that nutrition is a key component in athlete performance,” L’Heureux says. “I almost view it as a secret weapon.”
