Poor play-calling dooms Packers
How brilliant are Ted Thompson and the rest of the brass of the Green Bay Packers? We keep three rookie running backs who I guess can also play offensive and defensive line while letting go Ricky Jean Francois and Taysom Hill.
The Packers sure could have used Ricky Jean Francois against the Falcons (no depth on the defensive line).
My guess is Hill is as fast or faster than all three of the rookie running backs (but, who needs a 4.4 exciting quarterback? Not the Pack.). Wow! Since we do not possess the personnel to run Mike McCarthy’s plays what can the Pack do? The West Coast offense is predicated on the short passing game to take the place of a poor running game. McCarthy refuses to give his team a chance to win by calling these types of plays and substitutes it with his inept play-calling.
How difficult is it to “dink and dunk” with one of the top quarterbacks in the league? For Mike McCarthy it is impossible. Any adjustments he makes is too little too late. What amazes me even more is the Packers apparently have no one who can make these simple play calls.
Second half begins with Rodgers trying to throw a sideways pass returned for a touchdown by the Falcons. This is pathetic.
Should we keep things the way they are? Will we go on a run and make the playoffs like last season? Will our illustrious coach and GM can keep their beloved jobs? Will we will lose the playoff game and lick our wounds only to come back with the same scenario next year?
