Difference-makers fail to produce

Packer Plus - - News - Eagle River, Wis. Gerry Plank

Clay Matthews and Mike Daniels must be injured because they did not show up. When you have difference-makers that do not make a difference it is difficult to win.

In the past the Packers have had to play well enough to beat not only their opponent but poor refereeing. Sunday was no different. A gamechanging / momentumchanging fumbled punt was taken away by incompetent refereeing.

The most disturbing thing was seeing Matthews and Daniels be so ineffective while Blake Martinez is making a name for himself. Are some players taking off plays / games so they don’t get injured in a season that they perceive as being lost due to Aaron Rodgers’ injury? How much longer do we hold onto players who live off their past and coast now that they have gotten notoriety and money?

There is a feeling I get as a fan when watching Rodgers. I can’t wait to watch him play. His ability to make something happen when nothing is there is second to none. I got a little of that feeling with Brett Hundley after he scored his touchdown.

Questionable playcalling in the second half and a lack of intensity from a few key players doomed the Packers.
