Packers desperately need wake-up call

Packer Plus - - Analysis -

Ted Thompson regularly fields one of the youngest teams in the NFL. He clearly favors drafting and developing younger players ascending toward rather than sliding from the pinnacle of their careers.

Roster turnover is not a bad thing because in the NFL staying the same is falling behind. And who can argue with youthful energy?

But what about the coaching staff? During the Packer-Cowboys game a TV camera spotted Dom Capers yawning in the booth! If this is his intensity in the middle of a crucial game, it should surprise no one to see his defense playing with a similar level of somno- lence. And indeed game after game, we are witness to opponent receivers running through open gaps in the secondary.

On the other side of the ball, the plays and play-calling have grown stale as our receivers struggle to find even the slightest of openings, succeeding only because of the brilliance of a certain No.12.

Meanwhile, Mr. Thompson seems to have lost the Midas touch. As an avid fan it is extremely frustrating to see the Rodgers’ years wasted.

The staff of this team desperately needs an infusion of positive energy. They need both a wake-up and a shakeup ASAP! Mike Tresp Oshkosh
