Khalil Mack to the Bears. Eli Ap­ple to the Saints. Snacks Har­ri­son to the Lions. The teams view­ing them­selves as con­tenders are ad­dress­ing their de­fen­sive in­ad­e­qua­cies. Two of these teams are in the NFC North!

The Pack­ers’ de­fense is def­i­nitely now in last place in their di­vi­sion. The safety play is de­fi­cient in so many ways. The front seven lacks a pass rush and the OK run de­fense has taken a def­i­nite step back­ward with the loss of Mo Wilk­er­son.

Are the Pack­ers go­ing to stay sta­tus quo and watch the best quar­ter­back in foot­ball not be able to lead his team to the Su­per Bowl again be­cause of a bot­tom of the bar­rel de­fense? Just a mid­dle of the road de­fense would do. That’s all Tom Brady has ev­ery year and…

Changes have to be made on de­fense, sta­tus quo is just go­ing to have the Pack­ers sit­ting on the sofa come play­off time. Schemes and coach­ing them up isn’t go­ing to get it done!
