Man faces tres­pass­ing charge

A Bar­tow man is be­ing held on bond af­ter Palm Beach po­lice said of­fi­cers found him with a stolen bi­cy­cle while he was tres­pass­ing on a con­struc­tion site where he had been sleep­ing.

Christo­pher St. Ni­cholas Starkey, 26, is charged with felony tres­pass­ing on a con­struc­tion site, mis­de­meanor petit theft and mis­de­meanor loi­ter­ing, ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port.

Of­fi­cer Christo­pher Swinarski wrote in the re­port that he found Star- key at 1:57 p.m. May 10 in the back of a con­struc­tion site at 322 S. County Road, where Swinarski was do­ing an ad­di­tional pa­trol based on re­ports of some­one sleep­ing and leav­ing per­sonal items there.

The prop­erty is an un­oc­cu­pied mul­tiuse build­ing that peo­ple can ac­cess through shared ease­ments, ac­cord­ing to the re­port.

Starkey told the of­fi­cer he had left a bi­cy­cle with a flat tire and some clothes at the con­struc- tion site the night be­fore, the re­port said. Po­lice later learned the bi­cy­cle had been re­ported stolen in 2010.

The bi­cy­cle was val­ued at $250, ac­cord­ing to the re­port.

Starkey was on in­mate re­lease for a bur­glary con­vic­tion, the re­port said. He was ar­rested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, where he re­mained Thurs­day on $3,000 bond.
