Woman found dead in North End home dur­ing storm

A long­time Palm Beach woman was found dead by fire-res­cue per­son­nel in her North End home as the resid­ual winds from Hur­ri­cane Irma stung the is­land early Mon­day morn­ing, po­lice said.

Linda John­son Ross­bach was 77. No cause of death has yet been re­leased, ac­cord­ing to pub­lic safety of­fi­cials.

Palm Beach fire-res­cue work­ers re­sponded to a call to check on Mrs. Ross­bach’s wel­fare at 1:27 a.m. Mon­day, af­ter the winds from the hur­ri­cane’s outer bands had been bat­ter­ing the is­land for hours. They found her af­ter forc­ing their way into the res­i­dence, po­lice said. It was un­clear who placed the call to the town.
