Woman found dead in North End home during storm
A longtime Palm Beach woman was found dead by fire-rescue personnel in her North End home as the residual winds from Hurricane Irma stung the island early Monday morning, police said.
Linda Johnson Rossbach was 77. No cause of death has yet been released, according to public safety officials.
Palm Beach fire-rescue workers responded to a call to check on Mrs. Rossbach’s welfare at 1:27 a.m. Monday, after the winds from the hurricane’s outer bands had been battering the island for hours. They found her after forcing their way into the residence, police said. It was unclear who placed the call to the town.
