Vegetative waste again collected

Palm Beach Daily News - - TODAY - By JAN SJOSTROM

Palm Beach has resumed vegetative debris and yard waste collection, according to a town alert. But because of the quantity of debris, it might take weeks to clear it away, town officials said. The town is collecting garbage on the normal schedule. Recycling has been suspended until further notice due to a power outage at Solid Waste Authority facilities.

Because of the storm, size restrictions are being modified to allow larger diameter trees limbs and trunks. But the length of vegetative debris cannot exceed 6 feet. Normal debris pile size and location restrictions apply.

The town cautions residents not to place vegetative debris near overhead power or utility lines, storm drains, fire hydrants, water meters, mailboxes, fences or other obstacles. Construction and demolition debris is the responsibility of property owners or their contractors.
