Dis­as­ter relief gets boost

Eau Palm Beach Re­sort & Spa and the Young Pro­fes­sion­als of the Palm Beach Cham­ber of Com­merce cel­e­brated the sec­ond an­nual Burger Craft Beer Bash Sept. 23 at the ocean­side re­sort. A por­tion of the pro­ceeds will be do­nated to Vol­un­teer Florida’s dis­as­ter relief fund.

“This an­nual event is al­ways fun, as our house chefs and lo­cal craft brew­ers get cre­ative. Also, we are grate­ful we can sup­port our neigh­bors who are get­ting back on their feet af­ter Hurricane Irma,” said Cindy Racco, gen­eral man­ager of Eau Palm Beach in Manala­pan.

New ex­ec­u­tive direc­tor — Kate Watt of Palm Beach Gar­dens has been named ex­ec­u­tive direc­tor of the Su­san G. Komen South Florida af­fil­i­ate. She was pre­vi­ously chief de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer for the Ur­ban League of Palm Beach County and a for­mer board mem­ber of Ju­nior Achieve­ment of The Palm Beaches and Trea­sure Coast. She is a mem­ber of the As­so­ci­a­tion of Fundrais­ing Pro­fes­sion­als.

In her new role, Watt will over­see the an­nual Komen South Florida Race for the Cure.
