Neigh­bor buys first lot carved from Kluge es­tate

A Palm Beach cou­ple has ex­panded their Es­tate Sec­tion prop­erty by buy­ing an ad­ja­cent va­cant lot in a new five-lot sub­di­vi­sion carved from land once owned by late bil­lion­aire John W. Kluge.

The lot on El Bravo Way sold for just un­der $7 mil­lion, ac­cord­ing to a deed recorded Tues­day by the Palm Beach County Clerk’s of­fice. It is the first lot to sell in the sub­di­vi­sion at El Bravo Way and South County Road.

The buyer is a Florida lim­ited li­a­bil­ity com­pany con­trolled by re­tired oil ex­ec­u­tive Thomas D. O’Mal­ley, who with his wife, Mary Alice, owns an ocean­front house at 101 El Bravo Way, im­me­di­ately east of the lot. The cou­ple bought that house for $30 mil­lion in 2014, ac­cord­ing to court­house records.
