Neighbor buys first lot carved from Kluge estate
A Palm Beach couple has expanded their Estate Section property by buying an adjacent vacant lot in a new five-lot subdivision carved from land once owned by late billionaire John W. Kluge.
The lot on El Bravo Way sold for just under $7 million, according to a deed recorded Tuesday by the Palm Beach County Clerk’s office. It is the first lot to sell in the subdivision at El Bravo Way and South County Road.
The buyer is a Florida limited liability company controlled by retired oil executive Thomas D. O’Malley, who with his wife, Mary Alice, owns an oceanfront house at 101 El Bravo Way, immediately east of the lot. The couple bought that house for $30 million in 2014, according to courthouse records.
